Move / Delete files

Zoho Projects allows you to browse and upload your files from your personal desktop, Zoho Docs and Google Docs. You can upload any file type like *.jpg, *.png, *.doc, *.docx, *.ppt, *.xls, *.csv, *.mpeg, *.zip, *.mpeg, *.wmv etc.

Upload latest version of a file

To upload the latest file version:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.  
  4. Hover over the version number of the desired file and then click Click to view Version Details.

  5. In the displayed page, click Upload Latest Version.

  6. Click Choose File and select the latest file to upload.
  7. In File Description, specify additional information about the file.
  8. In Send notification about this version of file, click Select Users and select the desired users and then click Add to List to notify the selected users.

  9. Click Upload Document to upload the latest file version.

This uploads the latest version of the file with its new version number. If the previous version is 1.1, the latest one is stored as 1.2.

Move a file

You need to store files related to a particular module all in one folder. For Eg: All marketing related files needs to be stored under Marketing folder. For this move file option comes handy.

To move a file:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the version number of the desired file to move and then click Click to view Version Details.

  5. Click the folder name displayed beneath the document name.

  6. In Select Folder, select the desired folder to move the document.

  7. Click Move File to move the file.

Delete a file

To delete a file:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Hover over the version number of the desired file to delete and then click Click to view Version Details.

  5. Hover near Upload Latest Version and then click Delete File.

  6. A warning message about deleting the file is displayed.

  7. Click OK to delete the file.

Sort files

To sort files:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. Click the Document arrow to sort files based on Descending or Ascending order.

Move/Delete bulk files

You can update multiple files simultaneously. You can choose to move multiple documents from one folder to another or delete multiple files.

To move multiple files:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. In Files view, select a document to enable the Update option.

  5. Select the desired documents to move to another folder.
  6. In Update, click Move and then select the desired folder to move the documents.

  7. Click Move File to move the documents.

To delete multiple files:

  1. In Home section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, click the desired project to display its dashboard.
  3. Click Documents. By default, displays the list of files.
  4. In Files view, select a document to enable the Update option.

  5. Select the desired documents to delete.
  6. In Update, click Delete.

  7. A warning message about deleting the files is displayed.

  8. Click OK to delete the files.

Note:

  • To perform bulk updates either to move or delete all files, select the Document check box.
