# How do I provide discounts at invoice level?

To provide discounts to your customers for the invoices:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page.
*   Select **General** under _Preferences_.
*   In this page, scroll down to the field _Do You Give Discounts?_ and click **At Transaction Level**. From the dropdown, choose whether the discount should be applied before tax or after tax.
*   Click **Save**.

Based on the options you’ve chosen, discounts can be applied to your invoices.
