# Bill Preferences

To configure preferences for the Bills module:

*   Go to **Settings** on the top right corner of the page.
*   Select **Bills** under _Purchases_.

## Approvals

You can configure approvals for bills. You can choose from **No Approval**, **Simple**, **Multi-Level**, and **Custom Approval** types based on your business requirements. Learn more about [Approvals](/om/books/help/transaction-approval/configure-approvals.html).

## Fields

You can create new fields for the Bills module and assign different data types for each of them. Learn more about [Fields](/om/books/help/settings/customization/custom-fields.html).

**Notes** is a predefined custom field. By default, this field will be active and will not be shown in PDF and Vendor portal. You can enable the option to show the **Notes** in the bill’s PDF. Here’s how:

*   Hover over **Notes** and click the down arrow on the right side.
*   Select **Show in all PDFs**.
