Overview
Detects monetary values expressed in US dollars within text documents. This pattern identifies dollar amounts commonly found in financial documents, emails, contracts, invoices, and reports.
Format
US dollar amounts must start with a dollar sign ($), may include one optional space, and must be expressed either as a whole number with optional commas and decimals or as a decimal-only value for amounts less than one dollar. The number may contain 1 to 32 digits in both the whole and decimal portions, commas must follow standard US three-digit grouping, and no spaces are allowed within the number itself. Valid examples include $100, $ 1,000, $1,234.56, $.50, and $ .25.
