# How do I notify the submitter when a transaction is approved?

To configure notification preferences for submitters:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page.
*   Navigate to the module for which you want to configure approval.
*   Click the **Approvals** tab.
*   Select the preferred approval type (Simple, Multi-Level, or Custom Approval).
*   Check the box **Notify the submitter when a transaction is approved** under _Notification Preferences_.
*   Click **Save**.

Once you configure the notification preferences, Zoho Books will send automated emails to the submitters every time their transaction is approved.
