# Can I export a detailed general ledger to view the opening and closing balances of all my accounts in Zoho Books?

Yes, you can export a Detailed General Ledger report that contains the opening and closing balances of all your accounts in Zoho Books. This report will also include a row for every transaction in an account, without any restriction on the number of rows. To do this:

*   Go to the **Reports** module from the sidebar.
*   Click **General Ledger** under the _Accountant_ section.
*   Select a date range for which, you want the report to be generated.
*   Click **Run Report**.
*   Click the **Export** drop-down and choose the file format in which you want to export your file.

Now, your detailed general ledger report will be processed and you will be notified as soon as it’s available to download. You can also view the status of your scheduled export by clicking **Check Status**. This will bring up a list of all your detailed general ledger exports along with their status and a download link.
