# Payment Links

Payment links simplify online payments, making it a quick, secure, and no-code way to accept payments from your customers. Whether you’re offering a service, selling goods, or managing a business, you can easily generate a unique payment link in Zoho Payments and share it with your customers, even if you don’t have a digital platform or use any Zoho Finance app.

Once shared, customers can securely and conveniently make hassle-free payments using their preferred method, such as credit or debit cards, UPI, or net banking. You can create, track, and manage payment links and payments received through them, all from one place.

**Insight:** Payment links in Zoho Finance apps, such as Zoho Books, are designed to collect advance payments for bulk sales or ad-hoc payments and can be linked to customers' invoices later. Meanwhile, Zoho Payments offers standalone payment links that can be used independently, even if you don’t use a Zoho Finance app. You can choose the option that best suits your workflow.

## How does a payment link work?

Payment links provide a quick and secure way to collect payments. All you have to do is generate a link, share it with your customer, and receive payments instantly via their preferred payment method.

**Scenario:** Simon runs a construction firm and often needs to collect advance payments before starting projects. For one project, he needs specific materials from a local artisan vendor, who requires a 30% advance. To secure the payment quickly, Simon generates a payment link via Zoho Payments and shares it with his client. The client pays instantly using their preferred method, allowing Simon to proceed without delays.

**Scenario:** Alex, a graphic design student, freelances by creating logos and social media banners for small businesses. While he has a website to showcase his portfolio, he needs an easy way to collect payments from his clients. After completing a design, Alex generates a payment link via Zoho Payments and shares it via email or text. Clients pay securely using their preferred method, and Alex receives instant confirmation.
