# While importing transactions, I encountered an error stating that GST must be applied for interstate transactions. What should I do?

**Scenario:** Let’s say your business is registered in Tamil Nadu and you’re invoicing a customer who is located in Tamil Nadu. In the import file, if you have mentioned interstate taxes (IGST), then you will not be able to import.

To rectify, check for the following:

*   The **Tax Name** ( GST tax details ) and **Tax Type** ( Tax Group ) are mentioned correctly.
*   If **Branches** are enabled in your organization, verify ifthe branch name is added in your file and the same is mapped against the branch field in Zoho Books while importing.
