# What is the purpose of rounding option in price list?

When you create a price list and apply a markdown/markup percentage, it’s very likely that this will result in item prices with complex decimal values. Rounding them off to the nearest whole number or the nearest 0.99 (for **psychological** or **strategic pricing**) is practical and recommended. This can be done while creating a new price list or going back and editing one.
