How do I merge two accounts in my Chart of Accounts?
Zoho Books does not support merging two accounts in the Chart of Accounts module. However, you can transfer the records associated with one account to the other. After the transfer, you can either delete the account, or mark it as Inactive. To do this:
- Go to Accountant on the left sidebar and select Bulk Update.
- In the next page, click Filter and Bulk Update.
- In the Filter Transactions pop-up, fill in the following fields:
- Account: Select the account from which you want to transfer all the transactions.
- Contact: Select the customer or vendor whose transactions you want to transfer from one account to the other.
- Date Range: Choose the start and end dates to transfer transactions based on a specified date range.
- Total Amount Range: Choose the start and end values to transfer transactions based the transactions’ total amounts.
- Click Search. The transactions based on the applied filters will appear.
- Select the required transactions and click Update.
- In the pop-up that appears, select the account to which you want to transfer these transactions.
- Click Replace.
The transactions will be moved from one account to the other. You can now choose to delete the account or mark it as Inactive.
Note: You can delete or mark the accounts as Inactive only if you’ve manually created them in Zoho Books.
