# Delete Organization

**Prerequisite:** It is strongly recommended to take a backup of the organisation before deleting it, as all data will be permanently deleted. To backup your data in Zoho Books, go to **Organisation** > **Settings** > **Data Backup** > **Backup Your Data**. Read our help document for more details on [Data Backup](/in/books/help/settings/backup.html).

To delete your organisation:

*   Log in to your Zoho Books organisation.
*   Click the _Organisation Name_ dropdown in the top right corner, and select **Manage** from the panel that appears.
*   Under _My Organisations_, hover over the organisation you want to delete, click the dropdown to the right, and select **Delete**.
*   In the _Delete Your Organisation_ popup, read the information provided, check **I want to permanently delete this Zoho Books organisation and its contents**, and click **Delete Organisation**.
