# How do I allow partial payments on an invoice?

You can enable partial payments while creating an invoice, or for an existing invoice by editing it. Here’s how to do it for an existing invoice:

*   Go to **Invoices** under _Sales_ and select the invoice.
*   Click **Edit**.
*   Check the option **Allow customer to make partial payments for this invoice**.
*   Click **Save**.

Once done, your customer can pay any amount of their choice through the customer portal or the invoice payment link.
