# Create Retainers

Let’s say your customer pays you advance money for a quote. In such a case, you can record the advance by creating a [retainer invoice](/fr/billing/help/sales/retainer-invoice/).

After you have created a quote for a customer and it has been [accepted](/fr/billing/help/quote/#mark-as-accepted) by them, you can create a retainer invoice for the customer directly from the quote. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Sales** and select **Quotes**.
    
*   Select the quote (in the **Accepted** status) for which you want to create a retainer invoice.
    
*   Click the **More** button and select **Create Retainer Invoice** from the dropdown.
