## Documentation Index Access the complete documentation index at: https://www.zoho.com/es-mx/books/llms.txt Use this file to discover all available documentation pages before proceeding. # Clickatell SMS Extension [Clickatell](https://www.clickatell.com/) is a global technology company specializing in mobile messaging and chat commerce solutions that enable businesses to engage, interact, and transact with customers through popular messaging channels such as SMS, WhatsApp, and others. ## How the Clickatell SMS Extension Works After you install the Clickatell SMS extension in your Zoho Books organization, you need to create templates based on the SMSes you want to send to your customers. Next, create custom actions and associate the required templates with them. Lastly, create workflow rules and associate the custom actions with these rules to schedule the SMSes at your preferred times. For example, you can create SMS templates to share customer statements, invoice details, payment links, or payment reminders, and schedule the messages to be sent at appropriate times. * * * ## Benefits of Using the Extension * Send customized SMSes to your customers * Automate SMS delivery with custom actions & workflow rules * Generate SMS content with Zia * * * ## Install the Clickatell Extension To install the Clickatell SMS extension: * Go to **Settings** in the top right corner. * Click **Marketplace** under _Integrations & Marketplace_. * Click the search bar on the right side of the _All Extensions_ tab and search for the **Clickatell SMS extension for Zoho Books**. * Click the extension listed in the dropdown. * Click **Install** in the top right corner of the page. * Agree to the terms and conditions of Zoho Marketplace and the vendor. * Click **Install**. * Agree to the terms and conditions of the integration and click **Next** on the following page. * Authorize the **Clickatell SMS - Zoho Finance** and **Zoho Finance - Clickatell SMS** connections. * To authorize the _Clickatell SMS - Zoho Finance_ extension: * Click **Connect** next to the connection. * Enter your Clickatell **User Name** and **Password** and click **Connect** on the page that follows. The connection will be authorized. * To authorize the _Zoho Finance - Clickatell SMS_ extension: * Click **Connect** next to the connection. * Click **Connect** again on the page that follows. * The extension requires access to certain data from your organization. Verify the required data and click **Accept**. The connection will be authorized. * Once you’ve authorized the connections, click **Next**. * Select the medium through which you want to send the SMSes from the **Send SMS From** field. * Select **Shared Number** if you want to send the SMSes using the number provided by Clickatell. This is the default option set by Clickatell for sending SMSes. * Select **My Number** if you want to send the SMSes from your mobile number. This option is available only in certain countries. This option is available only in certain countries. Read this [article from Clickatell](https://help.clickatell .com/article/bs05tfu68e-international-support-for-alphanumeric-sender-id) to check if the My Business Name option is available in your country. * Click **Install Extension**. The extension will be installed. * * * ## Create Custom Actions To send SMSes to your customers, you need to create [Custom Actions](/books/developer/extensions/custom-actions.html). Here’s how: * Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page. * Click **Workflow Actions** under _Automation_. * Click **Clickatell Notifications** in the _Workflow Actions_ pane. * Click **\+ New Clickatell Notification** in the top right corner. * Enter the **Action Name** and **Description**. * Select the _Module_ for which you’re creating the custom action. You can choose from **Customers** and **Invoices**. * Select the required **Template**, and the message will be auto-populated. You can edit the message by clicking **Edit Template**. * Click **\+ New Template** to create a new template. Fill in the following: * Enter the **Clickatell SMS Template Name**. * Enter the **Message**. You can customize the message by adding placeholders. Click **Insert Placeholders** and select the required ones. * You can also use Zia to generate the message. Click the **Generate With Zia** icon. * In the pop-up, enter your prompt (describe the message you want Zia to generate) and click **Generate Content**. Zia will generate the message based on your prompt. * If you’re satisfied with the content, click **Insert**. If you want a different version, click the **Regenerate** icon next to _Insert_. * You can also change the **Tone** and shorten or expand the content. * Check **Default Template** to mark a template as the default one. * Click **Save** to save the template. * Click **Save** to save the custom action. * * * ## Create Workflow Rules To send SMSes to your customers, you need to create [Workflow Rules](/es-mx/books/help/settings/automation.html#create-a-new-workflow-rule) and associate them with the required custom actions. Here’s how: * Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page. * Click **Workflow Rules** under _Automation_. * Click **\+ New Workflow Rule** in the top right corner. * Enter the **Workflow Rule Name** and **Description**. * Select the **Module** for which you’re creating the workflow rule. Ensure that you select the same module you chose while creating the custom action. * Click **Next**. * Fill in the required details in the **Workflow Rule Execution Condition** section. * If you want to send the SMSes to your customers based on their time zones, select **Customer’s Time Zone** in the _Time Zone_ field. * Click **\+ New Criterion**. Click **Yes** if you want to add criteria and fill in the required details, or click **No**. * Click **\+ Immediate Actions**. Choose **Clickatell Notifications** as the _Type_ and select the required custom action from the _Name_ dropdown. * Click **Save**. * * * ## View Clickatell SMS Logs You can view a log of the SMSes triggered. Here’s how: * Click **Clickatell SMS Logs** under _Custom Modules_ on the left sidebar. A log of the SMSes triggered will be available. * Click the status of a log to view more details. * * * ## Uninstall the Clickatell SMS Extension If you don’t want to use the Clickatell SMS extension, you can uninstall it. Here’s how: * Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page. * Click **Marketplace** under _Integrations & Marketplace_. * Click the **Installed Extensions** tab. * Click **View details** next to _Clickatell SMS_. * Click **Uninstall** in the top right corner of the page. * Click **Yes** in the pop-up that appears.
