Summary
A salesperson is an individual whose job is to sell products or services to customers or even to other businesses. Salespeople play a vital role in generating sales revenue for the business. Based on their contribution, they may earn commissions, and in some businesses, even their salary is determined by the sales they close.
These are some of the scenarios in which a business cannot generate an invoice and use a delivery challan to move goods.
For example, in industries like automotive or garments, where high-value items, custom solutions, or personalized customer service are involved, sales are typically finalized with the direct assistance of a salesperson. In such businesses, the information and service provided by the salesperson can significantly influence the customer’s buying decision. As a result, salespeople are often rewarded with commissions based on their contribution to the overall sales revenue.
Scenario
Imagine you run a garment business with eight salespeople working across four departments, with two people assigned to each department on rotation. To keep your sales team motivated, you want to reward them with a monthly commission in addition to their salary. This commission will be based on each salesperson’s contribution to the total sales revenue. The higher their contribution, the higher their commission.
In Zoho POS, you can easily manage this process by creating salesperson profiles and assigning them to invoices and orders they assist with. Their performance can then be tracked using the Sales by Salesperson report, which provides clear insights into how much each salesperson has contributed to your overall sales. This makes it simple to calculate commissions accurately and even help you recognize your top contributors.
Let’s see how to enable and add a salesperson in Zoho POS.
