Subscriptions - Overview

The Subscriptions module in Zoho ERP is designed to manage recurring billing workflows for products or services rendered to your customers on a recurring basis. This module allows you to create subscriptions with items, plans, addons, usage-based components, and configure billing intervals, trial periods. Once a subscription is created, Zoho Billing automatically generates invoices and processes payments according to the configured schedule, reducing the need for manual intervention.

From a business operations perspective, the Subscriptions module provides comprehensive visibility into each subscription’s lifecycle, including Live, Paused, Expired, and Canceled status. It also allows you to accurately track recurring revenue metrics such as MRR and ARR, supports upgrading or downgrading customer plans with proration. These capabilities help track and manage recurring revenue and improve retention.

In addition to billing automation, subscription data plays a critical role in accounting, reporting, and compliance. The module ensures consistent and auditable records by maintaining detailed histories of all subscriptions, related invoices, and payments tied to each subscription.
