Create Recurring Expenses

Creating recurring expenses can be done through three methods. In this document, let’s learn how we can create the recurring expenses through these methods.

  1. Creating a New Recurring Expense
  2. Make an Existing Expense Recurring
  3. Creating Through API

Creating a New Recurring Expense

Let’s see how we can create and automate a new recurring expense in Zoho ERP.

  • Navigate to Purchases in the left sidebar and click Recurring Expenses.
  • In the top band, click the Expenses dropdown and click Recurring Expenses.
  • In the Overview page, click + New in the top-right corner.
  • Provide a profile name. An expense will be generated under this profile at the end of each recurring period, making it easy for you to keep track of it.
  • Select a recurring frequency. This decides how often the expense is generated. E.g., once a month.
  • Click Billable if you want to convert all the expenses into invoices.
  • Enter other required details and click Save.

Insight: You can set the start and end date of the recurring expense. If the expense is going to be a lasting one (such as the rent you pay for your office space), you can check on the Never Expires box to ensure it always remains active.

Make an Existing Expense Recurring

To convert an expense that you’ve already created in Zoho ERP into a recurring one:

  • Navigate to Purchases in the left sidebar and click Recurring Expenses.
  • In the top band, click the Expenses dropdown and click Recurring Expenses.
  • In the Overview page, open the expense that you want to make recurring.
  • Click Make Recurring.
  • Provide a profile name, recurring frequency, start and end date.
  • Click Save.

Insight: You can set the start and end date of the recurring expense. If the expense is going to be a lasting one (such as the rent you pay for your office space), you can check on the Never Expires box to ensure it always remains active.

Creating Through API

Use Zoho ERP APIs to programmatically create recurring expenses from external applications or systems. This is ideal for advanced integrations and automated workflows.
