Multi-Company Management - Overview
Multi-Company Management lets you manage multiple related organisations in Zoho ERP from a single view. Under multi-company management, each organisation is referred to as a Company with its own financial records, while still allowing a unified view across all companies. You can create intercompany transactions and generate consolidated reports, while maintaining separate books for each company.
This is useful when your business operates as multiple legally distinct entities under common ownership or control. Common scenarios include:
- Corporate groups with a parent company and subsidiaries
- Divisional businesses operating as separate legal entities
- Holding companies overseeing multiple business units
In multi-company management, each company typically represents a division, affiliate, or self-balancing entity with a shared chart of accounts.
Scenario: Patricia Boyle manages three organisations in Zoho ERP: Zylker Corporation, Zylker Inc., and Zylker Manufacturing. Using multi-company management, she can:
- Maintain separate books for each organisation to meet legal and tax requirements
- Record transactions between organisations as intercompany transactions
- Eliminate intercompany transactions to avoid overstating revenue and expenses
- Consolidate financial data across all companies at the end of the period
