Manufacturing Orders

A Manufacturing Order (MO) is used to record the production of the finished item in your organisation. It specifies the item to be produced by associating a Bill of Materials (BOM) to determine the required components and operations. Once the manufacturing order is completed, the quantity of the manufactured item increases based on the specified production quantity, while the component quantities are reduced, indicating that the item has been successfully produced and added to your organisation.

Scenario: Patricia runs a furniture business called “Patricia & Co.” She receives an order to manufacture 10 dining tables. To fulfill this, she creates a Manufacturing Order (MO) in Zoho ERP by selecting the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the dining table. She releases the job cards which allocates the work centers, and her employees begin the production process. Once all the jobs are finished and the quality check confirms the tables meet the required standards, the manufacturing order status is updated to Completed, indicating that the dining tables have been successfully manufactured and are ready for delivery.
