Move Orders

Move Orders are created to transfer inventory within or between facilities. They optimize stock levels, prevent stockouts, and reduce excess inventory, ensuring efficient operations. Understanding Move Orders is key to effective inventory management.

Create Move Order

Here’s how you can create a move order,

Prerequisite: The Move Orders module is available only if bins are enabled for any location in your organization.

  • Navigate to Inventory on the left sidebar.
  • Go to Warehouse Operations in the top Module bar.
  • Click Move Orders in the dropdown.
  • Click +New in the top right corner
  • Your Move Order# by default is auto-generated. You can click the Gear icon and enter it manually.
  • Enter the Date when you want the move order to take place.
  • Choose the Location/Warehouse Name from the dropdown.
  • Add the reason for moving the items in Internal Notes.
  • Select the items and their quantity you wish to move within your organisation in the item table.
  • Click Select Source Bins to choose the bins and enter the quantity from which the item will be taken. If it is a serial or batch tracked item add their respective details.
  • Click Select Destination Bins to choose the bins and enter the quantity where the item will be placed.
  • You can also add multiple bins by clicking + New Row.
  • Click Save.

Add Serial Numbers

  • Enter the required details in the creation page.
  • Click Select Serial Numbers and Bins below the item quantity.
  • Select the serial numbers of the items to be taken from the source bin by clicking the dropdown.
  • You can also view the serial numbers for the item in the source bin by clicking View Source Bin.
  • Choose the destination bin in the Dropdown to place the item.
  • You can also add multiple bins by clicking + New Row.
  • Click Save.

Add Batches

  • Enter the required details in the creation page.
  • Click Select Source Batches & Bins below the item quantity.
  • Select the batch from Source Batch Reference#, Source Bins, and Quantity Out from the respective dropdowns.
  • Click +New Row to add another source bin.
  • Click +Select Another Batch to choose additional batches.
  • Click Add Destination Batched & Bins to select the destination bins.
  • Select the destination bins and add quantity.
  • Click +New Row to add another destination bin.
  • If you wish to delete a row, click the Cross icon on the right side of the row.
  • If you want to delete the batch, click the Trash icon below and click Save.

Other Actions

You can perform some additional operations in a move order such as edit, delete, download and print.

Edit

You can edit a move order after creation to correct any mistakes or update details as needed.

To edit a move order,

  • Navigate to Inventory on the left sidebar.
  • Go to Warehouse Operations in the top Module bar.
  • Click Move Orders in the dropdown.
  • Select the move order you wish to edit.
  • Click Edit in the move order details page.
  • Edit the required details and click Save.

Delete

You can delete a move order if it’s no longer required or was created by mistake.

To delete a move order,

  • Navigate to Inventory on the left sidebar.
  • Go to Warehouse Operations in the top Module bar.
  • Click Move Orders in the dropdown.
  • Select the move order you wish to delete.
  • Click Delete in the move order details page.
  • Click Delete to confirm your action.

PDF/Print

You can print or download the move order as a PDF for reference or record-keeping.

To do this,

  • Navigate to Inventory on the left sidebar.
  • Go to Warehouse Operations in the top Module bar.
  • Click Move Orders in the dropdown.
  • Select the move order you wish to PDF/Print.
  • Click the PDF/Print dropdown in the move order details page.
  • Select the required action,
    • PDF- to download as PDF
    • Print - to print the move order.
