Journey Plans
A Journey Plan defines the schedule of customer visits for a salesperson over a specific period. It helps plan which routes and beats should be covered on particular days, ensuring that sales activities follow a clear and consistent plan.
The Journey Plans module in Zoho ERP allows you to create, assign, and manage these schedules for salespersons. By associating journey plans with routes, you can guide daily field activities, track planned versus actual visits, and ensure systematic market coverage.
Create Journey Plans You need to create a Journey Plan to schedule when a salesperson will visit routes and beats. This helps organize daily or periodic visits, ensures planned coverage of the market, and brings consistency to field activities. To create a journey plan:
- Go to Distribution on the left sidebar.
- Click Journey Plans in the Modules bar at the top.
- Click + New in the top right corner of the page.
- Fill in the following on the New Journey Plan page:
- Journey Plan#: Enter a unique number to identify the journey plan. You can enter the number manually or use the auto-generated number.
- Journey Plan Name: Enter a name for the journey plan.
- Salesperson: Select the salesperson who’ll visit the customers in the route associated with journey plans.
- Route: Select the route with which you want to associate the journey plan. Learn more about Routes.
- Plan Type: Select if the salesperson will visit the route once or frequently.
- Recurring: Select this option if the salesperson will visit this route regularly.
- Recurring Plan Duration: Enter the Start Date and End Date to specify the recurring plan’s duration.
- Recurring Plan Frequency: Specify how often the salesperson should visit this route. You can choose from Daily, Weekly, and Monthly.
- Recurring: Select this option if the salesperson will visit this route regularly.
- One Time: Select this option if the salesperson will visit this route only once.
- Date: Enter the date when the salesperson will visit this route.
- Notes: Add any information regarding the journey plan you want to convey to the salesperson.
- Click Save.
Edit Journey Plans
You can update the details of a journey plan by editing it. Here’s how:
- Go to Distribution on the left sidebar.
- Click Journey Plans in the Modules bar at the top.
- Click Edit at the top.
- Make the necessary changes and click Save.
Mark Beats Inactive
You can mark a journey plan as inactive when it is no longer in use. This keeps the journey plan’s data in the system for future reference.
Note: When you mark a journey plan as inactive, the beats associated with it also become inactive.
- Go to Distribution on the left sidebar.
- Click Journey Plans in the Modules bar at the top.
- Click the journey plan you want to mark as inactive.
- Click Mark as Inactive at the top.
- Click Mark as Inactive again in the pop-up that follows to confirm your action. The status of the journey plan and its associated beats will be updated to Inactive.
Mark Journey Plans Active
You can mark a journey plan as active when it needs to be used again. You can mark a journey plan as active when it needs to be used again. This makes the journey plan available for scheduling and allows salespersons to resume using it for planned visits. To mark a journey plan as active:
- Go to Distribution on the left sidebar.
- Click Journey Plans in the Modules bar at the top.
- Click the inactive journey plan you want to mark as inactive.
- Click Mark as Active at the top. The journey plan’s status will be updated to Active.
Delete Journey Plans
If your business no longer uses a journey plan, you can delete it to remove it from the system permanently.
Prerequisite: You can’t delete a journey plan that has beats associated with it. You can mark it as inactive instead.
To delete a journey plan:
- Go to Distribution on the left sidebar.
- Click Journey Plans in the Modules bar at the top.
- Click the journey plan you want to delete.
- Click Delete at the top.
- Click Delete again in the pop-up that follows to confirm your action.
