Custom Module Field Operations

In this help document, you’ll learn the different actions you can perform on custom module fields in Zoho ERP.

Configure Field Access

There may be cases where you would want to hide a custom field or give limited access to certain users. Here’s how you can do this:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
  • Select the required custom module under Custom Modules.
  • Go to the Fields & Tables tab.
  • Hover over the field for which you want to configure access.
  • Click the Dropdown icon and select Configure Access.
  • Select the access type for the role to which you want to give specific access.
    Access TypeDescription
    Read and WriteThe user with this access can view and fill or edit the field.
    Read OnlyThe user with this access can only view the field.
    Hide FieldThe user with this access type will not be able to view this field.
  • Click Save.

Edit Fields

You can update the fields in a custom module by editing them. Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
  • Select the required custom module under Custom Modules.
  • Go to the Fields & Tables tab.
  • Hover over the field you want to edit.
  • Click the Dropdown icon and select Edit.
  • Make the necessary changes and click Save.

Mark Fields as Inactive

If you don’t require certain fields, you can hide them from the custom module by marking them inactive. Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
  • Select the required custom module under Custom Modules.
  • Go to the Fields & Tables tab.
  • Hover over the field you want to mark as inactive.
  • Click the Dropdown icon and select Mark as Inactive.

Mark Fields as Active

If you want to use inactive fields in a custom module, you can enable them again. Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
  • Select the required custom module under Custom Modules.
  • Go to the Fields & Tables tab.
  • Hover over the inactive field that you want to mark as active.
  • Click the Dropdown icon and select Mark as Active.

Delete Fields

If you no longer require certain fields, you can remove them from the custom module. Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
  • Select the required custom module under Custom Modules.
  • Go to the Fields & Tables tab.
  • Hover over the field for which you want to delete.
  • Click the Dropdown icon and select Delete.
  • Confirm your action by clicking Yes in the pop-up.
