This is useful for maintaining consistent point values. * **Deduct loyalty points when items are returned** - Enable this option to automatically deduct loyalty points from customers when they return purchased items that were originally rewarded with points. * **Restrict awarding loyalty points when it is redeemed** - When enabled, customers cannot earn loyalty points on transactions where they are simultaneously redeeming points. This prevents point stacking on redemption transactions. * **Exclude the tax amount while calculating loyalty points** - Enable this option to calculate loyalty points based only on the item price, excluding any applied taxes from the point calculation. * **Retain the existing loyalty points when switching programs** - When enabled, customers retain their accumulated loyalty points if they switch to a different loyalty program. If disabled, existing points are reset when customers change programs. After configuring your preferences, click **Save** to apply the changes. ![Save Loyalty Program Preferences](/commerce/help/loyalty-program/save-preferences.png) ## Create Loyalty Programs The Programs tab displays all loyalty programs you’ve created and allows you to create new programs. ### Create a New Program 1. Example: “For Every 100 INR → Points Earned: 1” means customers earn 1 loyalty point for every 100 INR spent. * **Amount per Point** - Enter the monetary value equivalent of each loyalty point. This value is used when customers redeem points for discounts or rewards. ##### Multiple Criteria Configuration For **Multiple Criteria** loyalty programs, you can set up tiered earning rates based on order value ranges: * **Order Value Range** - Define the minimum and maximum order amounts for each tier: * Enter the starting amount (e.g., “INR 500”) and the ending amount (“To”). * **For Every** - For each order value range, enter the spending threshold within that range that triggers point earning. * **Points Earned** - Enter the number of loyalty points earned for each threshold within the specific order value range. * **Add New Range** - Click this link to add additional order value tiers. You can create multiple tiers with different earning rates. * Example: Create ranges such as “0 To 500 INR”, “500 To 1000 INR” with different point earning rates for each. * **Amount per Point** - Enter the monetary value equivalent of each loyalty point. #### Redeeming Loyalty Points Preferences Set rules for how customers can redeem their accumulated loyalty points: * **Minimum Points Required for Redemption** - Enable this checkbox to set a minimum point threshold for redemptions. When enabled: * **Minimum Point** - Enter the minimum number of loyalty points a customer must have accumulated before they can redeem. Customers can only redeem when their point balance meets or exceeds this minimum. For example, if set to 50 points, customers can only redeem when they have at least 50 points in their balance. * **Redemption Window** - Enable this checkbox to restrict redemptions to a specific time period. When enabled: * **Redemption Start Date** - The date when customers can begin redeeming their loyalty points (format: dd/MM/yyyy). * **Redemption End Date** - The date when the redemption window closes and customers can no longer redeem points (format: dd/MM/yyyy). * This allows you to control when redemptions are available (e.g., during specific seasons or promotional periods). ![Redeeming Loyalty Points Preferences tab](/commerce/help/loyalty-program/redeeming-loyalty-points.png) ## View Loyalty Programs To view all your active loyalty programs: * Go to **Settings** > **Setup & Configurations** > **Loyalty Program**. * Click the **Programs** tab. * The list displays all programs with columns for: * **Name** - The program name * **Description** - Program description * **Status** - Current status of the program ![Loyalty Program Programs List tab](/commerce/help/loyalty-program/programs-list.png) ## Manage Loyalty Programs For each loyalty program in the list, you can perform the following actions by clicking on the dropdown arrow next to the program: * **Edit** - Open the program to modify its settings, including name, description, point earning rules, redemption preferences, and schedules. This allows you to update any aspect of an existing loyalty program. * **Mark as Inactive** - Disable the program without deleting it. Inactive programs will no longer be available for customers to earn or redeem points, but the program data is retained. You can reactivate it later if needed. * **Mark as Default** - Set this program as the default loyalty program for your store. Customers will automatically be enrolled in the default program unless they specifically choose a different one. Only one program can be marked as default. * **Delete** - Permanently remove the program from your store. This action cannot be undone, so ensure you have a backup of any important data before deleting a program. ![Loyalty Program More Options tab](/commerce/help/loyalty-program/more-options.png) ## Best Practices * **Keep point values simple** - Use round numbers for “For Every” and “Points Earned” to make the program easy for customers to understand. * **Set realistic redemption minimums** - Choose minimum point requirements that are achievable but still valuable to encourage participation. * **Test your program** - Before going live, test different point earning and redemption scenarios to ensure the math works as expected. * **Monitor program performance** - Regularly review which programs are most popular and which redemption patterns customers prefer. * **Communicate clearly** - Make sure customers understand how points are earned and redeemed through clear documentation and storefront messaging.
