[Back](./) # How do I include additional information in the emails sent to my customers? **Prerequisite:** If you’re adding custom fields as placeholders in the email template and haven’t provided a value for the custom fields in the transaction, you won’t be able to send the email. To send it, remove any custom fields without values. You can add additional information to an email by using placeholders in both the subject and body of an email template. Here’s how: * Go to **Settings** in the top right corner. * Select **Email Notifications** under _Reminders & Notifications_. * Select the email template in which you want to add the additional information in the _Emails_ pane. * Click **Show Mail Content** below the email template. * To add additional information to the email’s subject, click the textbox next to Subject, click the **Insert Placeholders** dropdown, and select the required placeholders. * Click **Save**. The emails you send to your customers will now contain the additional information you’ve included. * * *
