# Why Does the “RCS Invalid” Error Appear, and How Should I Enter the RCS Value?

RCS stands for **Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés**, the French Trade and Companies Register. Businesses registered in France may have an RCS value as part of their legal business details.

### RCS Format

The RCS value should follow this format:

**RCS<city name><A/B/C/D><Siren>**

Spaces are allowed. Dots, hyphens and other special characters should not be used.

### Correct formats:

*   RCS Paris A 123123123
*   RCSParisB123456789

### Incorrect formats:

*   RCS Paris A 123123123. (contains dots)
*   RCS-Paris-B123456789 (contains hyphens)
