# How Do Multiple Transaction Series Work After Migration?

You can have multiple [transaction series](https://www.zoho.com/en-fr/books/help/settings/preferences.html#number-series) in an organisation. However, each branch or location can be associated with only one transaction series. The default series for the branch or location will be applied automatically after migration.

If an open invoice or credit note exists for a transaction series, that series cannot be edited.
