# How do I retain the address used in sales orders when I convert them to invoices?

To retain the address used in sales orders when converting them to invoices:

*   Go to _Settings_ on the top right corner of the page and select **Preferences**.
*   In the _Preferences_ pane, select **Sales Orders**.
*   In the _General_ tab, under _Which of the following fields of Sales Orders do you want to update in the respective Invoices?_, check the **Address** option.

*   Scroll down and click **Save**.

The sales orders that you convert to invoices hereafter will retain the address used in the sales orders.
