# How do I edit the details of an item from within a sales order?

To edit the details of an item from within a sales order:

1.  Go to the **Sales Orders** module under _Sales_ on the left sidebar.
2.  Open an existing sales order or [create a new sales order](https://www.zoho.com/in/books/help/sales-order/#create-so).

**Insight:** Clicking the **Save & Update Line Item** button will update changes in the **Items** module and the current line item. Whereas, clicking the **Save** button will only update the changes in the **Items** module and not the current line item.
