Had enough of the
Salesforce Tax?

Tired of paying exorbitant amounts in licensing fees each year that acts like a "tax" on your business? Sick of being held captive by the predatory practices of Salesforce? It's time to break free from the shackles and take control of your business.

What is the
'Salesforce tax'?

What is the Salesforce tax

Salesforce may be one of the biggest names in the CRM industry, but their high prices hardly equate to value. They charge an exorbitant amount in licensing fees each year that acts like a "tax" on your business. Today, Salesforce has become the very thing they swore to destroy - an overpriced legacy application that stifles business with restrictive contracts and exorbitant fees.

Welcome to my Nightmare!

We use Salesforce as our main CRM. The initial cost to BUILD whatever instance your SF sales rep presents to you and sells; the COST associate to get to that build is NEVER explained or discussed. It is a Sales organization, not a software company. Again, they do not care about your business, the negative impact of their CRM rollout, or how terrible their 3rd party support partners are. They. Dont. Care. They just want your money. SF is aware they are the biggest player on the block. They have all the cards. You, the consumer, as an individual business, have no power or say.

Never received what I paid for!

I attempted to sign up with Salesforce.com in mid-December. They charged me right away, but after two weeks of back and forth and not being able to sign in on the links they provided me. When I had called customer service, yet again, I told them to just cancel my account. The male representative just kind of laughed and said, "Good luck, since you signed a one-year contract." This is the worst service from any marketing professional I have ever dealt with, and I have tried several. They are extremely lacking in service and steal from consumers. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

Huge tool with huge setup and maintenance costs, not for small organizations.

Having worked off and on in software development for decades, it is just too complex. That said, integrating point solutions is no joke either. SF tries to automate so many processes it reminds me of a 6 sigma project - 500,000 repetitions is a good mark, you will save loads of time and money. For a small team it is a tremendous time suck. Both the organizations I am familiar with here probably spent way more money that they could possibly have saved. That said, they did not have good guidance in implementation.

We can't really leave!

it feels like Salesforce is at a point where they nickel and dime customers for features. We pay a lot for the system, and it always feels like there's something else that we need to buy. Salesforce.com is a good solution, but I am hesitant to give it a full recommendation because of poor support, a small developer community, and a relatively high expense. Furthermore, once you're "in," good luck ever getting "out." Make absolutely sure you want SFDC before purchase.

Greedy Corporate Bullies

This is the most disgusting company I have purchased services from. I am a small business owner and have had a change in circumstances forced by our franchisor and I wanted to terminate my contract. Salesforce wouldn't terminate the contract and wouldn't budge on the terms. They have zero empathy and they are bullies. If you are here to figure out if they are worth it, they are not. I can assure you. Don't do business with this company, you will regret it!

Negative return on investment

Salesforce.com has been entirely unusable for our business, is hugely expensive, the customer service is terrible, and when a Marketing Manager purchased additional licenses rather than transferring some, Salesforce have locked us in to THREE year contracts on the additional DISUSED licenses and have been trying to make us swap to a marketing automation system to use the funds. It is very clunky, very expensive, they are totally inflexible, and I would recommend any other company over Salesforce. Absolutely appalled and by far worst company I have ever dealt with.

But, why is Salesforce
so expensive?

Salesforce is expensive because it’s not just a CRM platform - it’s a lifestyle. It’s a way of saying to the world: “I’m successful, I’m smart, and I’m rich”. It’s like buying a Ferrari or a Rolex - you don’t need it, but you want it. It’s the ultimate status symbol for the modern business world.

Make no mistake - you're not just paying for their services - you're also paying for their upsells and hidden fees.
It's like being stuck in a never-ending cycle of taxation without representation.

What can I do about it?

If you are locked in a contract (like thousands of other businesses), you have our deepest condolences. If no - then it's time to look at other alternatives that are powerful, easy to use, don't lock you in with long contracts and don't charge a premium. Just like Zoho CRM.

Real People, Real Opinions:
Here's what our customers say.

Salesforce does a nice job of making people think all other CRMs lack functionality. We checked out Zoho and found that not only did it have all of the functionality Salesforce has, but the interface was much more thoughtful and well-designed. Bernard Health's bottom line has improved significantly since switching to Zoho.

Alex TolbertCEO, Bernard Health

Zoho had all of the functionality that we could ever need, at a fraction of the cost of Salesforce. It felt much more intuitive, and I was sure we would be very happy moving forward with Zoho. Anybody can use Zoho. The interface is straightforward, and the initial trial setup took very little effort.

Ignacio GalarragaCEO, The NetMen Corp

I did some serious digging into Zoho and with each new layer I pulled back I became more and more excited. Not only did I find a CRM solution, but a platform allowed me to lower my monthly tech spend by $6k–$11k while centralizing all my data for better business intelligence. Salesforce has become what they originally set out to disrupt. They are the new Oracle, Dynamics, SAP... Just look at the cost you are incurring to turn that monster on and get it to 60% of what you really need. Recouping your investment will take years, if you ever do.
