CRM users who've had enough.
Please RUN, do not walk away from this product.
Find a company that actually values their clients enough to give them functioning software. Bulk email with EMarketing was awful and now ACT! Marketing Automation has figured out to be even worse.
Functional for small businesses but is showing its age
We have deployed and supported ACT for small business customers for many years. Interface feels dated compared to other offerings, it does not feel like a modern CRM. If you're a long time user of ACT, you'll be ok with this, otherwise I don't know that I can recommend ACT to new users.
Good as a contact manager, not as a 2020 CRM
The program lacks the advanced functionality you would expect with a modern day customer relationship management software. The design is also extremely dated.
ACT does almost everything poorly.
It does not sync with multi-user unless you call support. You cannot move your data out of ACT onto a competitive product. They keep raising the price of support. I have tried all three different mass email programs they have offered over the years, but none of the mass email systems worked.
The worst customer support ever!
We have used ACT in its various forms since 1995. The current version in particular the Marketing Automation is very unstable and we have wasted hours of downtime with ACT technical support with no resolution. We have been waiting 3 months for it to be fixed only to be told that its our problem not theirs!
Dinosaur program!
Lag time is HORRIBLE. Customer service is lacking. Updates - haven't seen any improvement in the 8 years I've been using it. I would much rather create my own manual spreadsheets in google docs to organize my client database.
The worst CRM software available
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! Nobody you can speak with speaks English, and if you call the sales office, all they want to do is transfer you to tech support. The wait times are always 30 plus minutes to speak with someone. I have never in my entire life done business with company with such poor customer service.
There isn't much I like about using Act! CRM.
It is clunky and there are a lot better CRM tools out there that are much more sophisticated and are better for integrating multiple programs. Act seems to be patched together from add-ons over the year and has not had a comprehensive UX refresh.
It's not just users; experts
don't recommend Act! either.
Old fashioned UI is clunky enough to cause problems in many places. It's not easy to use, however, and it feels more like a beefed-up contact manager than a true customer relationship management (CRM) service.
Zoho CRM offers a more modern interface, extensive integration options and advanced AI tools, making it easier to use and more versatile for businesses looking for a comprehensive, user-friendly CRM solution.
We do not recommend this product due to the fact that there are many better options even for on-premise software that are available.
Steep learning curve. Cumbersome workflow management. Doesn't have functional server side-scripts. Non-intuitive email marketing. Customer service lacks responsiveness and understanding of the product, and product updates sometimes have bugs that impact performance.
Act! used to be
a good CRM. What went wrong?
There was a time when Act! was the go-to CRM for small businesses. It was simple, functional, and did what it promised: help organize contacts and streamline customer relationships. But over the years, things have changed.
Here's what went wrong:
Limited mobile functionality:
Act!'s limited capabilities on smartphones and tablets make it difficult for users to manage their CRMs on the go.
Lack of integrations:
The Act! Marketplace lacks meaningful integrations, whether for email marketing, project management, or analytics.
Unhelpful customer support:
Long wait times, unhelpful agents, and support that feels like it's from another era are among the biggest complaints users have with Act! CRM.
Lack of cloud focus:
Act! was slow to embrace the cloud, which has made it hard for businesses to access their CRM remotely and collaborate seamlessly.
Limited mobile functionality:
Act!'s limited capabilities on smartphones and tablets make it difficult for users to manage their CRMs on the go.
