Set detail view layout in kanban report designed for browser

There are two specific predefined layouts for detail view: Summary layout and Block layout.

To set summary layout for detail view of a record:

  1. Navigate to Design page.
  2. Click Detail View tab in the right panel.
  3. Select Layout section.
  4. Select the summary layout from the options provided.
  5. Map the fields in the layout.
  6. Click Done. The changes are reflected in the preview.

Access the application to view your report. Select a record. You will find that it has assumed the layout that you have selected.

Add block

A block contains the specified fields and their data as a separate entity within the layout of detail view of a record.

Add new block

Adding a new block could be useful to categorize the reports' fields.

To add block in detail view layout of kanban report:

  1. Select Detail View in Design page.
  2. Select block layout.
  3. Click Add Block.
  4. Select the fields that must be contained in the block.
  5. Enter title for the block.
  6. Select a layout for the block from Block Properties.
  7. Close the layout window. The preview on the design page reflects the layout.

You can add more than one block. On accessing the report using a browser, you will find that the detail view of a record is structured into blocks of information that are easily consumable.

Add related block

Adding a related block helps you include field values from another report which is based on a form that is related to the one at hand.

To add related block in detail view layout of kanban report:

  1. Select Detail View in Design page.
  2. Select the block layout option.
  3. Click Add Related Block.
  4. Select the required related form.
  5. Select the fields that must be contained in the block.
  6. Enter title for the block
  7. Select a layout for the block from Block Properties.
  8. Close the layout window. The preview on the design page reflects the layout.

You can add more than one related block. In block properties, you will find that adding filter criteria and quick filters is available for related blocks. This allows you to add a filter criteria to a block so that the records that match the criteria alone are displayed. You can also add quick filters to individual related blocks. These two features are enabled only when the block contains a series of related records.

On accessing the report using a browser, you will find that the detail view of a record in the report features blocks of field values of that report and the fields values of the related form are also contained separate blocks.
