Migration guide for reports

This section lets you locate and configure the report-related features and functionalities in Creator 5 as given below:

Access report settings

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name.

In Creator 5: Report Settings is renamed as Report Properties. To access:

Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties.


Change the report name/report link name

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab on the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Summary -> Mouse over display name/link name to edit.

In Creator 5: Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left panel in the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> Select More icon in the header -> Rename.


Set menu alignment

In the current version: Navigate to the ApplicationDashboard -> Click Reports tab on the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Summary -> Mouse over Display Properties -> Edit -> Set the menu alignment -> Save.

In Creator 5: This feature is deprecated. 


Set the number of records to display in a report

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Summary -> Mouse over Display Properties -> Edit -> Set records per page -> Save.

In Creator 5: This feature is deprecated. The records in the report will load on demand when you scroll to the bottom of the page while accessing the live application.


Change the display type of a report

In the current version: Navigate to the ApplicationDashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Summary -> Mouse over Display Properties -> Edit -> Choose Display type from the drop-down -> Save.

In Creator 5: You can change display type directly from the live application. To set the display type:

Click Access this application -> Select a report -> Click More icon in the top-right corner of the header panel -> Show as -> Select the required report type.


Set criteria in a report

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Summary -> Criteria -> Add Criteria -> Save.

In Creator 5: Criteria is renamed as Filters. To add a filter:

Click the Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left menu in the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> Organize Records -> Filter.


Set column properties

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> ColumnProperties.

In Creator 5: Click the Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Configure Fields for Web -> Drag and drop fields to rearrange or select a field and click Delete icon in the header.

You can also set column properties by clicking on a layout in Quick or Detail view.


Set grouping and sorting

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Grouping and Sorting.

In Creator 5: Grouping and Sorting are listed separately in Report Settings. To access:

Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left pane in the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> Organize Records -> Select Grouping/Sorting.


Set filters

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab on the header -> Click on a report name -> ReportSettings -> Filters.

In Creator 5: Auto filters (under the Filters section in the current version) is renamed as Quick filters in Creator 5. To set quick filters:

Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> Organize Records -> Quick Filters.


Set custom filters

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Filters -> New Custom Filter.

In Creator 5: Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left panel the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> Organize Records -> Custom Filters.


Restrict visibility

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Restrict Visibility.

In Creator 5: Restrict Visibility is deprecated. However, you can provide edit permission to specific reports for your users directly from the Users section. To access:

Click Settings in the header bar -> Users and Control -> Users -> Permissions -> Click on an existing permission set name/Add new permission ->  Enable report-level permissions such as View, Edit, and Delete for specific reports in each module (form).


Configure custom action

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Custom Action.

In Creator 5: Custom Action is renamed as Action Item. To define an action item:

Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the component preview area -> Select Quick View from Report Customization panel on the right -> Actions -> Click Add (+) icon next to For single record -> Add New Item -> Name the Action iIem -> Specify the condition and workflow name -> Create -> Add New Action -> Deluge Script -> Run a function -> Create.

Similarly, you can set create the Action item in the Detail view of the report.


Set conditional formatting

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Conditional Formatting.

In Creator 5: Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left panel in the component preview area -> Select Quick view/Detail view from Report Customization panel on the right -> Layout -> Click on a layout -> Field Mapping -> Select a field -> Click Conditional Formatting icon on the header.


Create record summary

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Record Summary.

In Creator 5: Click Design in the header bar -> Select the report from the left panel in the component preview area -> Mouse over the report -> Click Open Report Properties -> UserOptions -> Print.


Publish a report

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Publish.

In Creator 5: 'Report publish' is moved to 'Settings.' To publish a report:

Click Settings in the header bar -> User and Controls -> Publish -> Select the report from the picklist -> Publish.


View report definition

In the current version: Navigate to the Application Dashboard -> Click Reports tab in the header -> Click on a report name -> Report Settings -> Definition.

In Creator 5: Report Definition is moved to Settings. To access:

Click Settings in the header bar -> Developer Tools -> Application IDE -> Select a report on the left menu -> Report definition will load on the editor.
