Understand Authentication

Authentication is the process or action of verifying the identity of a customer of the customer portal. Zoho Creator allows you to choose between  different  authentication mechanisms by which the customer should be authenticated. The different methods listed in the Authentication page are as follows:

  • Default portal login - This option will use the unique login credentials of the customer which was generated while signing up to the Customer Portal. This option will be enabled by default. The federated login option will enable customers to use their Google or Facebook accounts to login to the Customer portal.  Learn more about the federated login.

  • SAML Authentication - This option will create a Single sign on (SSO) framework by which the customers can access the customer portal by using a third party identity provider.
