Creator Help

This topic describes the syntax and usage of the toUpperCase function in Zoho Creator .

The toUpperCase function converts all letters in the specified string to uppercase. If there are characters in the string that are not letters, they are unaffected by this function.  Returns the string in uppercase.

//this format is supported only in the free flow scripting mode of Script builder.

This function syntax has the following arguments.

string - Required. The string to convert to uppercase.

Example 1

Name="Create online database applications"

Name.toUpperCase()      //would return "CREATE ONLINE DATABASE APPLICATIONS"

("123abc") .toUpperCase()      //would return "123ABC"

upper(Name)      //would return "CREATE ONLINE DATABASE APPLICATIONS"

upper("123abc")       //would return "123ABC"

Example 2

You can get the first letter of a proper name to uppercase and the rest lowercase using the following script:

string getCapitalised(string txt)
if ((input.txt).length() > 0)
input.txt = (((input.txt).subString(0,1)).toUpperCase()) + (input.txt).subString(1,(input.txt).length());
return input.txt;
