How Radiant Anodisers digitized three decades of craft with Zoho Creator

"I'd describe Zoho Creator as a 'sleeping manager'. It's always there, taking care of things without being in your face. Even one day without it would take us three days to recover."

The company

Radiant Anodisers is a surface finishing company with over three decades of experience, based out of Rajasthan, India. Founded in 1995, the company built its reputation on delivering high-quality architectural aluminium finishes. Over the years, it expanded its craft beyond aesthetics into performance-based coatings for defense, aviation, and aerospace sectors.

What began as a single-focus operation has grown into a multi-domain coating solutions provider. The company is now led by Rachith Goel, a second-generation entrepreneur who stepped in to run the business his father built. Under his leadership, Radiant has taken deliberate steps to modernize its operations while preserving the craftsmanship that defined its name.

The challenges

As Radiant began working with larger organizations, the demands on its operations changed significantly. Bigger customers brought higher expectations around traceability, documentation, and process reliability. These processes, however, were fragmented and spread across paperwork and disconnected practices, with no single thread tying them together.

With approximately 10,000 different drawings and profiles arriving daily, and multiple dispatches possible against a single delivery challan, the operation had a level of variability that most off-the-shelf solutions couldn't accommodate.

To streamline their operations, Radiant started looking for a system that could be built around how they worked, not the other way around.

Other products on the market were built for specific industries and didn't fit our requirements exactly," says Rachith.

This is when they came across Zoho Creator and its customization capabilities. To bring their vision to life, Radiant partnered with XAAS Genie, a trusted Zoho Partner.

Rachith shared eight existing Excel sheets with the team and asked for everything to be brought online. XAAS Genie then built a structured model from there, developing a system that connected all departments through a single, traceable thread.

The solution

Using Zoho Creator, Radiant built a custom solution with over 15 applications across its five operational units. Developed in phases over 10–12 weeks, each application was designed to address a specific gap in the production and management workflow.

Here's a closer look at the core modules:

Inventory management

This module manages the complete lifecycle of materials, from inward stock to outward movement. Every material entry is logged and validated against approved purchase orders before stock levels are updated via automated workflows. Expired stock reports and a comprehensive received purchase orders log ensure the team maintains an audit-ready inventory at all times.

Order management

At the heart of Radiant's operations is the challan—a unique identifier that tracks every shipment from intake to dispatch. This module is built around the challan form and a dedicated drawing repository for technical specifications. It enables proforma invoice generation against specific challans, maintains a transparent record of all order activity, and ensures financial alignment before production begins.

Pre-production tracker

This module focuses on the initial chemical and physical preparation of material before it moves to the production line. It records recipient details, challan numbers, and coating specifications, while verifying inward packing list details and actual weights at intake. This ensures every material is correctly documented and cleared before shop-floor execution begins.

Production management

The production module governs shop-floor execution through control plans that translate customer requirements into actionable shop orders. Managers use daily and consolidated reports to monitor throughput, track quantities, and maintain finishing standards across anodizing and powder coating workflows.

This module is also integrated with the pre-production tracker, giving teams an end-to-end view of material movement from preparation to finished output.

Customer portal

Radiant extended system access to its customers through a dedicated portal. Customers log in, enter their delivery challan number, and can see exactly which stage their material is in, without needing to call or follow up.

Now, customers don't need to call us repeatedly to know the status of their material. They can see it directly," adds Rachith.

For customers in real estate whose materials go into large commercial buildings, this visibility directly reduces idle time on site.

Factory checklist management

This module digitizes operational maintenance across the plant floor. Forms for ETP checks, maintenance sheets, and titration logs ensure that chemical parameters, such as alkali and acid levels, stay within required ranges for consistent finishing quality.

Metal Test Certificate

This module handles the generation of Metal Test Certificates (MTC) based on completed work. By entering the invoice number and challan number, the system pulls work type, builder name, and architect name to create a formal validation document. These certificates are emailed directly to customers to verify the technical specifications of the finish.

Benefits and ROI

By consolidating operations onto Zoho Creator, Radiant achieved measurable improvements across productivity, visibility, and customer experience.

Three hours saved per person, per day

Across the five manager-level roles, Zoho Creator has saved approximately three hours person/day. What was once tracked manually across disconnected sheets is now logged, routed, and accessible in one place.

Data-driven production decisions

With every production run now captured in the system, Rachith can see exactly which colors or profile drawings are rejected the most.

Now I know which SKUs result in the most rejections. I can either adjust pricing for those or analyze the root cause. This level of insight was simply not available before," adds Rachith.

Transparent communication with customers

The customer portal has changed the nature of communication between Radiant and its clients. Customers tracking their material in real time has resulted in fewer follow-up calls and faster responses to potential delays.

Earlier, if we missed a delivery date, the customer's team would be idle at the site, which is a huge cost. Now they can track delays or even potential rejections in advance," adds Rachith.

Efficient audit readiness

With processes documented and structured through the system, Radiant can now be audited more easily and scale its operations without losing control. The system captures who handled a part, when it was produced, and what happened at each stage, enabling root cause analysis when issues arise.

Instant notifications

A reporting and notification layer runs across all modules, sending automated alerts for expiry dates, pending purchase orders, and challan status updates. Management also gets visibility into critical thresholds without manual intervention.

Looking ahead

Radiant plans to deepen its use of Zoho Creator as new operational needs emerge. They're planning to prioritize mobile usage, enabling managers to update records on the go rather than waiting until the end of the day.

On the integration side, Radiant is working with XAAS Genie to connect Creator with Zebra RFID devices, automating the tracking of stock movement as items transition to and from client locations. They're also exploring the Gemini API via custom connectors to automatically extract data from PDF challans, eliminating manual entry and accelerating the digital audit trail for every transaction.
