Any user can import their contacts to the Personal branch in Zoho Contacts. Only the admin of the respective Organization and Groups can import contacts into it.

Import contacts from Social Network

You can import contacts from your Google/Yahoo/Outlook accounts.

  1. Log in to Zoho Contacts.
  2. Click the icon and then Import.
  3. Click Google, Yahoo, Outlook and allow access to import contacts to Zoho.
  4. Contacts from the account will be imported to your Zoho Contacts account.

Note: Only valid contacts will be imported. An error will occur if the contact is in an invalid format.

Import contacts from Desktop

You can also import contacts from your local desktop files. Zoho Contacts supports CSV, LDIF, and VCF file formats.

  1. Click the icon and then click Import.
  2. Click the Local File option.
  3. Choose the file to upload in the pop-up window and click Open.

Note: You can only import up to 5000 contacts at the same time.

Import CSV files

  1. Log in to Zoho Contacts..
  2. Click the icon and then Import.
  3. Click the Local File option.
  4. Choose the CSV file to upload and click OK.
  5. In the pop-up window, set conditions using the fields from the drop down menu and then click Next.
  6. If a contact satisfies all the conditions, it will be imported. If not, it will be skipped.

Export contacts

You can export contacts from Zoho Contacts to different file formats such as CSV, VCF, LDIF, HTML, and Outlook CSV. You can also secure access to your exported files using a password.

From January 20, 2023, we're going to stop the support for creating and managing "Personal Group Contacts". So, if you currently have any, export and save those contacts before the deadline to avoid losing them.

  • Log in to Zoho Contacts.
  • Click the icon and then Export.
  • In the pop-up, choose the branch, category, and the format for the export.
  • If you want to secure access to your file, click Secure the contacts file and enter the password.
  • Click on Export contacts.

Note: The password set while exporting will be needed to open the downloaded file.
