# How do I set an expiry date on loyalty points?

You can control loyalty point validity by setting program dates when you create a new loyalty program.

*   **Program End Date** defines when the earning period ends.
*   **Redemption End Date** defines the last day customers can use their points.

The redemption end date must be the same as or earlier than the program end date.
