# How do I control where item recommendations appear on my online store?

Item recommendation placements are fixed by type:

*   **Related Items** and **Upsell Items** appear on the item details page.
*   **Cross-sell Items** appear on the cart details page.

You can control how many recommendations appear for each section under **Item Preferences** in the _Settings_ page:

*   **Maximum Recommendation Count**: Set separately for **Related**, **Upsell**, and **Cross-sell** to control how many items are displayed.
