# How do I organize items into categories and collections?

**Assigning a Category**

Categories are set from the item’s create or edit page. In the **Category** field under **General Details**, click the dropdown to see existing categories. You can search by name, select one, or click **\+ Add Category** to create a new one on the spot.

**Adding to a Collection**

Collections are managed separately. To add items to a collection:

1.  Go to **Items** > **Collections** and click **\+ New** (or open an existing collection).
2.  Under **Collection Items**, choose the **Collection Type**:
    *   **Manual** - select specific items yourself by clicking **Add Items here**.
    *   **Rule-Based** - items that match a defined set of conditions are added automatically.
3.  Click **Save**.
