# Can I import and export price lists as a file?

Yes. This is available only for price lists using the **Individual Products** type. Within such a price list, toggle on **Import Price List for Items** under **Customise Rates in Bulk** to access the import and export workflow. The process works in two steps:

**1\. Export items as XLS file**

Export all items or filter specific items, update their rates in the file, then import it back to update the price list.

*   Click **Export All Items** to export your full catalog, or **Export Filtered Items** to export a subset.

**2\. Import items as XLS file**

Import the CSV or XLS file you have updated with the customised rates.

**Notes:**

*   Importing replaces the existing rates for items in this price list with the data in the import file.
*   **Item ID** is used as the primary mapping field since item name duplication is enabled.
*   Check **Overwrite the custom rates only for the items in the import file** to update only the items included in the file, leaving others unchanged.

Click **Import Items** to complete the import.
