How do I set up attributes and options for variants?

Attributes and options define the different versions of an item — for example, Color as the attribute and Red, Blue as its options. To set them up:

  1. Go to Items > New Item and select the item type as Contains Variants. You can also edit an existing item and turn on Contains Variants in the General Details section.
  2. Scroll to the Variations section.
  3. Enter the Attribute name (e.g. Color, Size) and the corresponding Options (e.g. Red, Blue / S, M, L) on the same row. You can add multiple attributes and options by clicking + Add more attributes.
  4. Check Are your options color identified? if the attribute represents a colour, so customers can pick from colour swatches on the storefront.
  5. The Variants table below is populated automatically with all combinations. For each variant you can set the SKU (or use Generate SKU to auto-fill) and the Selling Price per unit. Use Copy to All to apply the same price across all variants at once.
  6. Under Custom Fields, select a layout if you have custom fields configured for items.
  7. Click Save.
