How does Volume Pricing work within a price list?

Volume Pricing is a pricing strategy that rewards bulk buying by setting lower per-unit rates as the quantity purchased increases. It is configured within a price list using the Individual Products type. You can define multiple quantity tiers for each item, specifying the start and end quantities along with the custom rate that applies within that range. When a customer adds an item to their cart, the system automatically calculates the applicable rate based on the quantity purchased.

To set it up:

  1. Go to Items > Price Lists and click + New Price List.
  2. Under Price List Type, select Individual Products - this lets you customise the rate for each product separately.
  3. Under Pricing Scheme, select Volume Pricing.
  4. Select the Currency for the price list.
  5. In the Customise Rates in Bulk table, each item shows its Sales Rate, Retail Price, enter the Start Quantity, End Quantity, and Custom Rate.
  6. Click + Add New Range under an item to define a quantity tier, set the start and end quantity and the custom rate that applies within that range. Add as many ranges as needed per item.
  7. You can also use Update Rates in Bulk to apply changes across multiple items at once, or toggle Import Price List for Items to import rates via a file.
  8. Click Save.
