Can I auto-generate SKUs instead of typing one for every variant?

Yes, you can set a SKU pattern and let Zoho Commerce auto-generate SKUs for all variants at once. To do this:

  1. Go to Items and open or create an item with variants.
  2. In the variants table, click Generate SKU.
  3. In the Generate SKU - Variant pop-up, configure the pattern using the following options for each row:
    • Select Attribute - Choose a source for the SKU segment, such as Product Name, a variant attribute (e.g. Size), or Custom Text.
    • Show - Set whether to use the First or Last N characters of the value.
    • Letter Case - Set Upper Case, or Lower Case. It is optional.
    • Separator - Add a character (e.g. -) between segments.
  4. Use + Add Attribute to chain multiple segments together.
  5. Check the SKU Preview at the bottom to confirm the generated format before applying.
  6. Click Generate SKU to apply the pattern to all variants.
