Send Follow-up Campaigns

Are you a marketer who's wondering why your recipients haven't responded yet? Do you find it difficult to follow up with your recipients based on opens or unopens of your campaigns?

If your answer is yes, we know exactly what you need. Zoho Campaigns has come up with a feature to precisely meet these types of marketer requirements.

Chain Campaign

A chain campaign allows you to retarget the recipients of previously sent campaigns, based on their opens or unopens. Chain campaigns are not restricted to just one follow-up campaign, you can create as many campaigns as you want, in order to achieve the desired results.

Campaigns that have had chain campaigns created for them will be denoted by a chain symbol. Clicking on this symbol will display all the chain campaigns created for that particular campaign.

Why should I send a chain campaign?

  • To reach out to unresponsive subscribers
  • To boost your open rates
  • To focus more on the qualitative leads

How do I create a chain campaign?

To create a chain campaign:

  1. From the Navigation toolbar, choose Campaigns, and select Email Campaigns.
  2. Click the campaign that you want to create a chain campaign for.
  3. Click View Report.
  4. Click Send Follow-up in the top-right.
  5. Under chain campaign, select For Opens to send the email to opened recipients and For Unopens to send it to unopened recipients.

  4. Click View Overall Report to view a detailed report of the chain campaigns.

Note :

  • The concept of chain campaigns is applicable to all advanced campaigns except A/B campaigns.
  • While sending a follow-up for unopens, the option to clone the previous campaign content will be enabled by default. You can disable it if you want to.

Child Campaign

A child campaign allows you to send a new email campaign to your recipients based on their actions in the parent campaign. Child campaigns are not sent as a sequence of emails like chain campaigns, but instead as a single email. You can also create a child for a child campaign. A child campaign is always denoted by a follow-up symbol.

Depending upon the recipients' actions, child campaigns can be classified into three categories:

  • Separate Opened: This sends an email campaign based on the parent opens
  • Separate Unopened: This sends an email campaign based on the parent unopens
  • Clicked: This sends an email campaign based on clicks
