Sign-up Based Autoresponder

Quick Linksup

Sign-up based Autoresponders is a series of automated messages sent to subscribers when they meet certain criteria; in this case, the subscriber has joined your mailing list via sign-up form/import/sync with other services. For instance, the email could be anything ranging from a welcome email to information relevant to their area of interest.

In this document, we'll explain on how to set up a sign-up based Autoresponder and explore the different scenarios you may encounter while trying to create one.

To create a Sign-up based Autoresponder,

  1. Go to the Automation tab --> Autoresponders.
  2. Click the Create Autoresponder button present at right hand side.
  3. In the Create Autoresponder page, click sign-up based Autoresponder.
  4. This will take you to the create page where you need to enter/add the following information:

  1. Click the Create Message button.
  2. Now, add the message content similar to a regular email campaign such as entering basic details, configuring content.
  3. Once the content is ready, you can send the message for review.
  4. After the message is reviewed, click the Send Settings button. You may choose to send immediately or schedule it later.
  5. Click the Start Now button.

Sending Autoresponders to Missed Contacts

You can send Autoresponders to missed contacts which already existed in the mailing list prior to the creation of Autoresponder.

For example, an Autoresponder is set with a message which will be received by subscribers after 4 days of sign up. Now, when a contact is added to a list on August 4th, that subscriber would be receiving the message on August 8th.

That’s fine! But what about the contacts which existed in the list prior to the start date of Autoresponder? Though these contacts meet the defined criteria, they will never receive the message.

For such contacts, we’ve an option to send the Autoresponder message by clicking the Send Message to Missed Contacts link. You can find the Send to Missed Contacts under Settings section of an Autoresponder message.

Note

  • A sign-up based Autoresponder depends on when the subscribers was added to a mailing list rather than time when segment was created.
