Add Comments to Email Campaigns

Posting Comments on an email newsletter allows the recipients to add feedback which on a longer term get converted to a discussion. Zoho Campaigns provides a textbox where users can submit their comments to your email campaigns. At the same time, it provides you to moderate the comments and make it public until you publish those comments.

Add comment

Recipients/ Visitors can post comments on email campaign by clicking the link “View this email in a browser”. When the link is clicked, the campaign opens in a separate tab where the recipients/ visitors can add comments.  Once, recipient/ visitor add comment, it either gets updated or waits for your approval depending upon your preferences set in the Comment Settings.

Note

  • This enhancement also applies when the recipient forwards the campaign to his friends.

Comment Merge Tags

Apart from clicking the link for “View this email in a browser”, you can insert the comment merge tag(s) in your campaign content. This merge tag will be replaced by “Add Comment” link or an icon with hover content as Add Comments.

$[ET:COMMENTS_ICON]$ - This is displayed in the form of icon to add comment in email campaign content.
$[ET:COMMENTS_ICON|Comments|Add comments]$ - This is displayed in the form of icon with hover comment as “Comment” and “Add Comment” as Alt image in email campaign.

View Recipient Comments

You can view the posted comments by the following the path given below:

  1. Go to Reports module
  2. Click the Campaign for which you want to view the comments.
  3. Click the Recipient Comments from the right hand side panel.

Note

  • Posted comment will not be visible until sender clicks the publish link.
  • Users can view their own comment regardless of comment being published or unpublished.

Managing Comments

The success of any email newsletter to be viral depends upon the quality of comments posted in the email campaign. There is always a high end possibility for users or visitors to post irrelevant or derogatory comments. In order to restrict the less-relevant comments, you can customize your comment settings so that a comment requires your permission to get published.

You can decide on whether to publish a comment by clicking the “Publish” link or go for deleting the comment by clicking the “Delete” link.

However, if you don’t want to moderate the upcoming comments, you can select the checkbox which publishes the successive comments to an email campaign.
