Currencies
Zoho Checkout allows you to process transactions in multiple currencies. This allows you to accept payments other than your organization’s base currency to accommodate global customers.
Base Currency
The default currency of your organization is your base currency. The base currency is determined based on the location you select while setting up your organization. For example, if you’ve selected the USA as your location, your base currency will be USD. To view your base currency:
- Go to Settings and select Currencies.
Your organization’s base currency is marked with the Base Currency tag. This page also lists all currencies supported by Zoho Checkout by default.
Add New Currency
If you’re dealing with customers whose currencies are not mentioned by default in your Zoho Checkout organization, you can add new ones. To do so:
- Go to Settings and select Currencies.
- Click + New Currency in the top-right corner of the page.
- A pop-up will appear, fill in the following fields:
- Currency Code: Choose the currency from the dropdown.
- Currency Symbol: Symbol will auto-populate based on the currency code chosen. Modify if needed.
- Currency Name: This field will also auto-populate based on the currency code chosen. Modify if needed.
- Decimal Places: Set the number of decimal places that must be displayed when showing an amount in transactions.
- Format: Based on the decimal places you choose, various format options are displayed. Choose how the currency should be displayed.
- Click Save.
The new currency will be added.
Exchange Rates
Exchange rates in Zoho Checkout help you manage transactions across different currencies by keeping them aligned with real-time market values. Zoho Checkout automatically updates exchange rates through Open Exchange Rates, known as Exchange Rate Feeds. This ensures your organisation’s base currency stays aligned with market changes. By default, Exchange Rate Feeds are enabled in Zoho Checkout.
If you’d rather enter exchange rates manually every day, you can disable exchange rate feeds and enter the rates yourself.
Disable Exchange Rate Feeds
If you prefer to manage exchange rates manually, you can disable automatic exchange rate feeds:
- Go to Settings and select Currencies.
- Click Disable Exchange Rate Feeds in the top-right corner.
- In the confirmation pop-up, click Disable.
Once disabled, exchange rates will no longer be updated automatically, and you’ll need to enter them manually.
