Integrate Zoho Checkout with Stripe

Stripe is a leading payment service provider that lets businesses collect payments securely. You can collect one-time and recurring payments from multiple countries and currencies by integrating Zoho Checkout with Stripe.

Scenario: Sarah runs an online tutoring service and wants to accept payments from students worldwide. She integrates Stripe with Zoho Checkout, creates a Payment Page, and shares it with her students. When a student enters their card details and clicks Pay Now, Stripe securely processes the payment and transfers the funds to Sarah’s bank account during the next payout cycle.

Set Up Stripe

To get started, connect your Stripe account with Zoho Checkout. If you don’t have an account, you can create one and proceed with the integration.

To set up:

  1. Go to Settings and select Payment Gateways.
  2. Click Configure next to Stripe. You will be redirected to Stripe’s login page.
  3. Enter your Email Address and Password, and click Submit.
  4. On the next page, select an account from the dropdown or create a new account and click Connect.

Your Stripe account is now connected to Zoho Checkout.

Associate Stripe with Your Payment Page

Your customers can pay you through Stripe if you’ve made it your organization’s default gateway or by associating it under Advanced Setup.

You can associate a Payment Gateway to your Payment Page in two ways:

During Payment Page Creation

  1. Go to the Payment Pages module and create a new Payment Page.
  2. Go to Advanced Setup and navigate to Associate Payment Gateways.
  3. Check Stripe and click Save & Publish.

You will be able to collect customer payments through Stripe.

Edit an Existing Payment Page

  1. Go to the Payment Pages module.
  2. Select the Payment Page you want to update and click the Edit icon in the top right corner.
  3. Go to Advanced Setup and navigate to Associate Payment Gateways.
  4. Check Stripe and click Save & Publish.

Stripe will be associated as a Payment Gateway for this Payment Page.

Note: If you have associated multiple gateways to your Payment Page, your organization’s default gateway will be used to collect customer payments.

Receive Payments from Customers

To make a payment via Stripe, customers have to:

  1. Enter the required details on the Payment Page.
  2. Click the payment button (for example, Pay Now or Proceed to Pay).
  3. Choose a preferred payment mode and make the payment.

Once the payment is successful, you will receive an email notification regarding the payment made by your customer. The payment details can be viewed in the Payments module. The payment will be settled in your bank account during the next payout.

Payment Methods

Your customers can make payments using a variety of methods supported by Stripe, including cards, payment services, and bank transfers.

Note: Recurring payments are supported only when the payment mode is cards. All other payment modes support only one-time payments.

Cards

Stripe supports popular card brands such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. Customers can make secure payments using these cards.

Bank Transfers

iDEAL: A trusted payment option that enables customers in the Netherlands to make online payments through direct bank transfers via their trusted banks.

Bancontact: Bancontact facilitates online payments for customers in Belgium through mobile apps, QR codes, or the Bancontact website.

ACH: Customers in the US can make ACH payments by linking and verifying their bank accounts through micro-deposits or Stripe’s Financial Connections.

Giropay: Giropay is a popular German payment method that allows customers to complete transactions using their online banking credentials. It is a bank redirect system, meaning customers are redirected to their bank’s secure environment to authorize the payment.

Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL)

Klarna: Klarna provides flexible payment options, such as Pay in 30 Days or Pay in 3 or 4 installments, and is available in several countries across Europe, the US, and Australia.

Others

Apple Pay: A payment service for iOS users that allows customers to pay securely using saved credit or debit cards.

Note: Apple Pay can be accessed only through the Safari browser.

Alipay: This payment solution enables customers in China to pay for goods and services through both online and offline modes.

PayNow: PayNow is a secure, real-time payment method that allows businesses in Singapore to collect payments directly from customers’ bank accounts. In Zoho Checkout, PayNow is available as a dedicated payment method when your Stripe account is integrated. When a customer pays via a Payment Page, a unique PayNow QR code is generated for the exact amount due. The customer can scan this QR code to make the payment, and the amount will be credited to your bank account.

GrabPay: GrabPay is a secure digital wallet that lets customers in Singapore make fast and secure payments. If you’ve integrated your Stripe account with Zoho Checkout, you can use GrabPay to pay online or in person by scanning a QR code.
