# How do I prevent users from changing item prices on quotes?

If you do not want your users to modify item prices on quotes, you can configure a restriction based on roles.

To prevent users from changing item prices on quotes:

1.  Go to **Settings** by clicking the **Gear** icon in the top right corner.
2.  Click **Items** in the _Items_ section.
3.  Navigate to the **Field Customization** tab.
4.  Hover over **Selling Price**. A dropdown will appear at the right corner.

7.  Click **Save**.

Once saved, the users falling under the configured roles will not be able to modify item prices on quotes and the selling price of items in the Items module.
