Predefined views

Predefined view displays the same information about bugs in different perspectives, based on your requirement.

The various predefined views in bugtracker are categorized as follows:

All Bugs : All Bugs that are associated with the selected project are displayed regardless of their status, due date, owner and so on.

All Open : Bugs that are only in Open status within the project are displayed regardless of their due date, owner and so on.

All Closed: Bugs that are only in Closed status within the project are displayed regardless of their due date, owner and so on.

My Open : Bugs that are only in Open status and assigned to you are displayed.

My Closed : Bugs that are only in Closed status and assigned to you are displayed. They are struck out.

Not Assigned: All Bugs that are yet to be assigned to an owner are displayed.

Overdue Bugs: Bugs that have missed the due date are displayed regardless of their status, due date, owner and so on.

Created Today: Bug that are created today by all the stakeholders are displayed regardless of their status, due date, owner and so on.

Bugs from Zoho Support: Bugs that are filed from Zoho Support are displayed regardless of their status, assignee, time, module and so on. Zoho Support must be integrated with Zoho BugTracker to view bugs in Bugs from Zoho Support.

Submit bug

You can submit a bug for a selected project.

To submit a bug:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.

  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEW.
  5. Click Submit Bug.

  6. In Problem Title, specify the bug title.
  7. In Problem Description, specify any additional information, if required.
  8. Click Choose File to attach any files.
  9. In Other information, choose the desired option.
  10. Click Save and Add New to save the bug and add another bug.
  11. Click Save to save the bug and edit.

Add comments

Sometimes you might want to add some additional information about a bug. And you can specify those information as comments.

To add a comment:

  1. In HOME section, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.

  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEW.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Add Comment.

  6. Specify your comments in the text box.
  7. If you want to send a notification mail to selected users, select Send Mail Notification.
  8. Click Add Comment to add the comment to the bug.

Edit Bugs

You can edit bugs at any time during the project, if required.

To edit a bug:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Edit Bug.
    • You can also click on the selected bug to edit.

  6. Modify the bug details as required. The changes are immediately reflected in the bug list view.
  7. To edit the next bug click Next.

  8. To move back to the bug list view click back to Bugs list.

Note:

  • You can also edit the bug to clear the Due On date and set a new due date for the bug, if required.

Resolve bugs

You can resolve a bug and move it to the next status in the project.

To resolve a bug:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Edit Bug.
    • You can also click on the selected bug to edit.

  6. Click Resolve Bug.

  7. In Status, select the desired status.
  8. In Resolution, specify the bug resolution details.
  9. Click Update to resolve the bug.

Move Bugs

You can move bugs from one project to another project, if required.

To move a bug:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Move Bug.

  6. In Projects, select the desired project.
  7. Click Move to Another Project to move the bug to the selected project.

Clone bugs

You can clone bugs to duplicate the same bug for your project needs and save time spent in filing another bug.

To clone a bug:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    • You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Clone Bug.

  6. The selected bug is immediately cloned and displayed in the bugs list view.

Export bugs

You can export bugs, if required.

To export bugs:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Click Export.

  6. Select Group By and Format.
  7. If required, select Export with description.
  8. Click Export to export the bugs for the selected view.

Import bugs

You can import files only in CSV (Comma Separated Values) format.

To import bugs:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Click Import.

  6. Click Choose File and select the file to import in to bug tracker.
  7. Click Continue.

  8. In Import Bugs Wizard, in Default Fields tab, map List of fields in bugtracker and Columns in CSV file.
    • A warning message is prompted, if you select the same column value for more than one field.

  9. In Custom Fields, select the desired fields.
  10. In Select date Format, select the desired date format.
  11. Click Continue to confirm the file import.

  12. Click Import to import the file.

Note: The imported bugs are displayed in the bug list view. A notification is also mailed to your inbox about the bug import.

Customize columns

You can customize columns in the bugs list view. You can choose columns as desired to be displayed in the bugs list view based on your preference.

To customize columns:

      1. In HOME, click Projects.
      2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
      3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
      4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
        •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
      5. Click Customize Column.

      6. Select the desired columns.
        • You can also clear the columns that are already selected, if you do not wish to view them in the bug list view.
      7. The selected columns are displayed in the bug list view.

Sort Bugs

In the bugs list view, you can sort bugs based on their Created, Modified and Due dates. Bugs can be sorted in the ascending and descending order of dates.

To sort bugs:

      1. In HOME, click Projects.
      2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
      3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
      4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
        •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
      5. In the bugs list view, choose the desired column to sort the bugs. You can choose Created, Modified or Due dates columns.
      6. Click the arrow in the desired column to sort the bugs in Ascending or Descending order.

Update bugs

You can update bug details for multiple bugs.

To update bug(s):

      1. In HOME, click Projects.
      2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
      3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
      4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
        •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
      5. Select a bug to enable the Update option.

      6. Select the Update checkbox to update all the bugs in the selected bug list view.
        • You can also choose to update the desired bug(s).
      7. Choose the desired option in Update, to update the bug(s) details.

Delete Bugs

To delete a bug:

  1. In HOME, click Projects.
  2. In Projects list view, select the desired project.
  3. Hover over Bugs and click Bugs.
  4. Select the desired view to display the bugs.
    •  You can choose PREDEFINED VIEWS or CUSTOM VIEWS.
  5. Hover over the desired bug, click Action menu and then click Delete Bug.

  6. A warning message about deleting the bug is displayed.
  7. Click OK to delete the bug.

My Bugs

In My Bugs view, you can view bugs that are assigned to you as well as created by you across projects. You can filter bugs view based on Project, User and Time & Status. In addition, in this view, you can only submit, edit and add comments to bugs.
